Vocation to the Priesthood and Religious Life 

 "The Harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few, therefore ask the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest."

Matthew 9:37 

Each one of us is a part of the Body of Christ. We all have different roles and vocations in the Vinyard of the Lord. Together as the Body of Christ we are called to build the Kingdom of God. 

In His time, our Lord Jesus Christ has called many men and women to follow him in a particular way of life to serve God and his people. 

Throughout the history, uncountable numbers of men and women left everything behind - their dream, future, their love ones, and even their life - to follow the Lord to live a priestly and religious life.  

What a beautiful vocation! 

Our Cathedral and other parishes of the Diocese of Palmerston North are served by our priests and religious. 

Along side with various activities associated with the parish life and celebrating the sacraments, our priests and religious also serve as spiritual directors, school and college chaplains, chaplains to hospital and prison, university and other tertiary chaplains, and offer ministry to Catholic marae. 

At the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit, we pray, promote and support young Catholics who are discerning to join the priesthood and religious vocation.
